Medical massage is best used after any recent injuries from, but not limited to; car accidents, muscular strains and post surgery recovery. We suggest clients receive their doctorʼs approval prior to scheduling a medical massage. A typical approval time is 4-6 weeks after surgery. Medical massage is also beneficial for clients with conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, and consistent chronic pain.
If you have been involved in an automobile accident, slip and fall accident, or have sustained any type of injury and experience pain, medical massage may be for you. Medical massage uses unique massage techniques that target the area of the body affected by the injury. To build your treatment plan, your massage therapist will ask you to fill out a medical history form to assess your injury. It is important to be open and honest with your massage therapist. Remember, your medical history is confidential and strictly between you and your massage therapist.
Depending on the type of injury, your massage therapist will use different techniques that may include deep tissue, trigger point therapy, and stretching. Your massage therapist may also instruct you to complete stretches and apply ice or heat to the injured area of the body.
